Prof. K. P. J. Reddy received Masters degree from Mysore University in 1975 and Ph.D from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi in 1981. He joined the Department of Aerospace Engineering, Indian Institute of Science in the same year. Since then he has held many positions. His areas of interest are Hypersonics, Shock Waves, Chemical Kinetics, Lasers, Photonics, Biophotonics and Nonlinear Optics. He has published more than 250 technical papers in international journals and conferences and has half a dozen patents to his name. He has organized many international conferences and workshops and he is also a member of International Advisory Boards for many reputed international conferences. He served as the Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Hypersonics and a Member of the Editorial Boards for the Shock Waves journal, Journal of Indian Institute of Science and Journal of Engineering Physics and Thermophysics. He has established a very strong research group in IISc in the areas of hypersonics, shock waves and related fields and has built many unique experimental facilities for high speed testing. One of his recent inventions is named after him as Reddy Tube. Prof. Reddy is the founder President of Society for Shock Wave Research, India and also the President of International Shock Wave Institute, at Nagoya, Japan. He has received Honour Diploma from Minsk International Forum on Heat and Mass Transfer, Minsk, Belarus and IISc Alumni Award for Excellence in Engineering Research in 2010. He is also an Adjunct Professor of the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, Pune and the founder director of Super-Wave Technology Pvt. Ltd. He actively works with voluntary organizations for popularizing science among high school/college students especially in rural India.  
Prof. Gopalan Jagadeesh is a Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering, IISc Bangalore. He is the Founder Chairman of Centre of Excellence in Hypersonics, in IISc. He is also the Founder Director of Super-Wave Technology Pvt. Ltd – an Initiative with equity participation from IISc to commercialize discoveries related to industrial applications of shock waves. He is also an honorary professor in the School of Engineering, University of Glasgow, UK. He holds a B.E in Mechanical Engineering from Bangalore University, M.E in Heat Power Engineering from Birla institute of Technology, Mesra and Ph.D in Aeronautical Engineering from Indian Institute of Science. He is a Fellow of Royal Aeronautical Society, (UK), National Academy of Engineering (India) and an Associate Fellow of American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics. He actively works with voluntary organizations for popularizing science among high school/college students especially in rural India. His research areas include hypersonic aerothermodynamics and shock wave propagation in complex fluids. He has published over 200 papers in peer reviewed international journals and conferences and edited 3 books.
